I have been very lax about posting here but I have been very busy. Things are great and there have been lots of exciting potential opportunities in our lives lately. We have been looking at houses of various types in various places around town and even entertained a move to London but in the end, we decided to stay put and keep our eyes on the prize. The prize right now is the new web site that I mentioned once before, geezers.com. Things are moving along and we hope to be online soon. Once online, it will definitely be a full time job for me, which kinda seems inconsistent with my goals of being free wheeling and traveling around. The goal with the site is to still be able to travel and move around since I can administer the site from anywhere that has an internet connection. There is the small thing though about shipping out items on a daily bases. Someone has to do it and that someone is me until we can put a person on, hopefully sooner rather than later. Will keep you posted.
In the mean time, in keeping with the theme of my life, I have done some traveling. I am currently in Colombia. The trip started in Cartagena and has now moved to Santa Marta. Frankly, I have been disappointed in both places. Both towns are on the western side of a small mountain range on the edges of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, an interesting range for two reasons. One, they are not part of the Andes and two, they rise to a height of about 19,000’ and only about 31 miles from the coast. On the western side it is dry and very brown, not the lush place that I envisioned. However, traveling to Tyrona national Park took me over a pass where the scenery changed almost instantly. The tropical side is much prettier with some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. In a couple days I will be going to the mountains for some more site seeing and will post more pics.
